Research Fellow
Shahrzad Zahertar has joined the Optoelectronics Research Centre (ORC) at the University of Southampton since August 2021. She is currently working on the development of planar optical fibres. Prior to that, she was a research fellow at the Department of Mathematics, Physics and Electrical Engineering at Northumbria University, UK. She received her PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from Northumbria University, UK, MSc degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Bogazici University, Turkey and BSc degree in Electrical Engineering-Bioelectric from University of Tehran, Iran. Her current research interests include flat optical fibres for sensing applications, metamaterials for biosensing applications, Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) actuators, and Lab-on-Chip devices.
